Habitat Restoration

Maintaining ecosystems in their natural state is a priority work on biodiversity conservation. However, in many cases restoration of degraded environments is essential and also individual species restoration though captive breeding and release programs may also be necessary. Activities under this program are intended to support the wild populations and environments.

Himalayan Nature’s Contribution

  • Tree plantation for the restoration of nesting habitat of key bird species such as raptors and storks
  • Grassland restoration to safeguard the habitat of grassland birds and other key fauna
  • Wetland restoration through maintaining annual water level, invasive species management
  • Ex-situ conservation of target species, rehabilitation for sick and injured birds and wildlife species
