Identify and link the existing market for fish

July 31, 2019

After successful release of fish fingerlings in 8 community based fish ponds in year 1 and year 2 of the project, fish farmers now started harvesting fish as the fish stock or part of it has attained market size. Local market (Bazaar), most often called 'haat' and local hotels serve as trading venue for harvested fish from community based fish ponds.

In order to create better opportunity and to identfy and link the existing market for fish, 1 day interaction programs were conducted under the project "Community conservation of Chitwan National Park’s freshwater ecosystems and gharials" in Bote-Darai Mahila Machha Paalan Samuha in Kumorose, Chitwan and Majhi Utthan Samuha in Pithauli, Nawalpur.
